Come go with me

The Global Outrage of an Educated Man.....vol. 46

"Think for yourself and let others enjoy the privilege of doing so too." Voltaire

"We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools." Martin Luther King Jr.

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening to all of you on this absolutely golden beautiful first day of October where the trees seem to be bursting into an open fire. I may ask you, can you taste the warm apple cider? Can you hear the kids as they drag their feet through the piles of curbside leaves? Can you witness the young boys eyeing the prizes of waiting to be smashed pumpkins atop of the steps of suburban houses? Oh, to trick or treat our way through life would be utmost bliss.  What would be better?

Now, back to things of a more serious if less than realistic more like a surrealistic movement in nature week of events. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, the spectacle that has become the United Nations! Can anyone remember a more lunatic fringe cast of characters addressing the world as if they had all the answers? Please people, I can already see you rolling your eyes, and muttering to yourselves, but Mr. Scharber you seem to be doing that to us every two weeks or so? Ha Ha Ha, it is true that I do love a good pulpit. But seriously, what can we do, but other than sit back and silently protest the loss of our civil liberties from the comfort of our recliners while following our progress in Fantasy Football? What truly matters?
The United Nations brought us back to back days of trash talking, the kind reminiscent of a pre-boxing match weigh in, with the likes of Jew-hating Holocaust Denying Disco-Leisure Suit wearing Iranian President spokesman for the Mullahs, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who if anyone knows me, has to admit, I love the jacket, and then there was our always right and never wrong George W. cowboy President for the Oil-Millionaires "My Pet Goat" reading as planes crashed into the twin towers, never rushed to safety while the nation was under attack silve spoon fed leader of the free world, and last but not least the almost as crazy as I am, put in power by the same United States secret CIA government he so crudely despises, and his sulphur insinuating remarks about our sitting president, and no, not Cheney, left leaning, Castro Citgo Gas man, Hugo Chavez. This band of brothers, made one think that the Ringling Brothers of Barnum and Bailey had purchased the rights to the United Nations and was about to set up the big tents and start charging admission for the freak show. Come watch the leaders of the world eat fire!!! It was something even Fellini couldn't have possibly imagined or William S. Burroughs in the heights and depths of a heroin daze could have concocted while dreaming of a rendezvous with Allen Ginsberg or Kerouac in Tangiers. The hate spewing of Ahmadinejad and the hilarity of Chavez and the dead pan of George W., all in a week before his administration releases the report that apparently all 16 intelligence agencies of the United States weighed in with their opinions that the war in Iraq has only emboldened the terrorists worldwide and their hatred for the United States has grown ten fold like the opium production in Afghanistan under our occupation.  Nice. Of course they are wrong according to our guided by God President, but this is not a Holy War. People, this is not a Holy War between Christianity and Islam. This is not a modern Crusades. That's crazy, just pay your credit card's minimum balance and don't fret the housing market and the growing number of foreclosures. The Pope doesn't make disparaging remarks about Islam on purpose,  because he never thought that anyone may be offended by them. Why would anyone be offended by calling Mohammed a murderer. That's just outrageously crazy to think that anyone would have a problem with that. It's not like a simple cartoon, come on. But on the other hand, I do ask myself,  why is it okay for the whore of Babylon, Madonna, justifying her love, to crucify herself on stage as part of a performance, and that is fine, as it should be, for it should not be banned but criticized, but for a performance of Mozart in Berlin to have Mohammed criticized, that should be banned? It's okay to criticize Christianity but not Islam? Criticize all. If you can't take it, your faith just isn't strong enough maybe? Then again, this is just one man's opinion. You have to think for yourselves. Have a great day, a wonderful evening and remember, that we must remain ever vigilant. We are at war here. We are at war with ourselves. Isn't that terrifying enough?
