There is a giant pig stretched out across the American landscape that encompasses all within, from sea to shining sea. The Supreme Court having given birth to its round taut pink fat ballooned body after having created it through its genetic corporate act of manipulated reproduction, it now lays languid in the dog days of summer as one by one her children of Moloch come to suck from her teats to feed their morally malnourished bodies. Never before have we seen so many, so early in the campaign season writhing in the mud. Yet they continue to grovel and fight among themselves for the best position while high above, their mutated dragon like offspring floats with the currents of the ever changing wind through his billion dollar comb-over, laughing and bullying along the way as he spews dissension and whatever will grab the headlines for that particular day. Even the anointed one has been seen finding her place within the grovel that are her current counterparts, sucking from each well fought for teat for the campaign sustaining fluids that are the lifeblood of their ever developing macabre like circus. Reports say that record numbers are being siphoned off each quarter; stay tuned ladies and gentlemen, because we still have a long way to go.
The lightning flash of resilience is at times
remarkable as the storm clouds gather and roll across the plains. There are
faint murmurs of the stirring but nothing more obvious than birds chirping and
small squirrels scurrying from tree limb to tree trunk and back again. Unlike their human neighbors, they can see it
coming. They can hear the echo of its’ tremendous force. They find reason and
purpose in their actions.
It has been forecasted, spoken about in Internet and
overly priced cafes and on their television sets with good looking tan-skinned
and well-manicured hosts with plunging necklines equivalent to their
intelligence quotient. To the viewers at home or stuck in the airport waiting
holding pattern however, the ticker at the bottom of their screens is no
consolation. Their retirement savings doesn’t hold them close and whisper
everything is going to be all right. They can feel it, but they can’t see the
noose that they are each holding, tightening around their necks.
Some of them know better than that and some should,
but they go for a walk anyway. Nothing anymore surprises me. Although the fact
that they walk upright may seem a miracle in and of itself. But you can tell
that to Darwin and all of his followers as a big, “I told you so.”
They can curse me all they want; but it takes a lot to
bring a man to the point of wanting to kill another human being. Believe me, there are many
factors along the way that help to push and prod him in the direction that
ultimately alters two lives with a single act of disregard to decency and instead
towards a full embrace of how shall I put it, human nature.
Say what you will about other animals, there is
nothing so sinister, yet remarkably elegant in the fact that each person holds
steady to the belief that they can control their own destiny; that with an act
of repudiated violence towards another they may find joy and happiness in their
absence, doing their best to mop up the blood afterwards. The explosion of
forensics shows gives birth to confident voyeurs, naïve in believing that they
won’t leave a trace.
I can understand that. In their opinion, I’m the
ultimate voyeur. Where was I? That’s right, back to the task at my left hand;
please forgive me. I’ll be the first to admit it; it is very difficult to
multitask, and I’d admit, maybe that’s where I’ve gone wrong.
There may be the co-worker who continually pushes your
buttons, or the momentary lapse of reason resulting in a desperate act of road
rage, slamming your brakes as the smell of burnt rubber surrounds the vehicle
and you, pulling the gun from the glove compartment; settling things once and
for all.
Like a mystical weapon handed down from above, each
finds their believed purpose in the blink of an eye. I see that you all try
your best not to let the guilt of the act wash over and consume you.
Cavemen would simply grab the
nearest stone and raise their arms towards the heavens and bring it crashing
down on a skull within reach, in defiance of all that has come since then. They
have evolved to the point that the method they choose is just that; it is all a
matter of their choosing. With the explosion of information found on the
Internet, each of them has the tools and capability of performing the task of
Cain. There is nowhere to hide from the click of a mouse.
As a result of the progression of
technology and the wide spread of information, wars between nations seem to be
reaching their endpoint. Instead they have been replaced with acts of terror
bound together by outdated ideologies grasping for straws of relevance in the
ever changing world. This world’s natural resources dwindle and yet they
continue to do nothing about it. Halls of power throughout the globe tug and
pull in opposite directions, neither one capitulating to the other and in the
process are equal conspirers of their own demise. Like the hole in the center
of a table hidden underneath soiled cloth, with a vase placed unknowingly,
oops, bringing it all down.
A mess has been made.
Articles are continually written
about the downward slope of modern life. One day, museums will be built in the
name of their murderers, owners of more wealth and control than their victims,
but their history will place the mantle of victor atop their marble columned
abjurations; monuments to their own stupidity. Selfishness rewarded with
scholarly theories held forth by institutions of ivy colored walls, closed to
those without the skills and money necessary to open their doors.
I hear them. I hear their pleas, but
I haven’t come to a decision yet.
Why should I help them? What have
they continually showed themselves to be other than hypocrites who only hold
out hope for help when they need it most; but in days comforted by my
everlasting grace neglect the simple fact that without me, none of them or this
would be here at all?
They have been seduced through their
ignorance. The ineffectual ones and zeroes flashing behind a flickering screen
of light that is held in place by plastic constructed by the shells of long
dead life forms; an assembly line of free trade. Ones and zeroes, a line in the
sand and a circle placed next to it; cross the line and you will find what you
are looking for. Step into the circle and you will be lost in the endless loop
of totality. Ones and zeroes, ones and zeroes are all that they are. All of
life has sprung from the one wellspring of creation and that is all. From
nothing comes everything; and from everything they will have nothing left.
Then again, I haven’t made my mind
up, yet. If you’re lucky or cursed, you can bet I’ll see you around.
Objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear. The past is like the future, just out of reach of our outstretched fingers and never what we think it was or ever will be. Instead we push through the cobwebs of ether into the unknown, continually finding faults in our supposed gifts only to weather the storms of holidays' long distant memories. Our Fathers, Mothers, Sons and Daughters have gone before and have left our golden shores to remain permanently etched into our frontal lobes; each one of us suffering from post traumatic stress in the name of God and Country and most of us don't even know it.
If you were to disregard the who, what, where and when and focus on the now, you would find the present tense all the more unsettling as we sift through the desert of our despair. California is dying on the vine and yet the water from the heavens is soaking our midsection as we grow ever more overweight with the absence of intelligent thought and discussion, only to struggle everyday to remind ourselves that we are blessed to live in the country where we have the freedom to be all that we can be, whether someone else likes it or not.
Ladies and gentlemen, before we get all wrapped up in our flag orgy of pounding our chests; the fact is that less than .05% of our country's population now currently serves in the Armed Forces and for that I am truly thankful. But I would like to, more than I know or do, give thanks to those that have served and have gone and given the ultimate sacrifice through wars both deserving and those that should have never been and this should also include those from around the world as well. Because we are one world, in an ever expanding universe, and I hope in time, someday, we will miss and spill tears for everyone everywhere, except for maybe ISIS; realizing that in the ones we fight and the ones we lose, we in the end, are only fighting ourselves.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Good morning to you as you begin wiping away the eye boogers, swiping the cobwebs from the early morning alarm clock surprise, stretching limbs and brain cells to the light of the rising sun for we are unfortunately finding ourselves aware that the awful fact is reminding us with each news cycle or believed important televised and broadcast media stumble social faux pas, that the Presidential election cycle is underway. It is more than a year away from now and we have begun the mind-numbing process of electing through corporate donations who our President will be after all of the advertising and debates good ol' Koch money can buy. But before you do that, do us all a favor and remind yourselves, we need to amend the Constitution and eliminate the ruling of Citizens United. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. For if there is any simple truth to be gleaned from the horror of the newest election cycle, it is that Corporations are not People!!!
Another horrifying fact coming out of the front lines of the global war against the Goblins of the New World Order is that there is news out of reputable sources that are reporting that the World Bank has foreclosed on the hopes of 3rd world countries through their "involuntary resettlement" plans.
Can this really be a surprise to any of us in the know?Huffington Post News Story
Through the years 2004-2013, the bank of ill repute has displaced and forced 3.4 million people out of their homes under the ominous umbrella of the International Finance Corporation, we are finding some truth to the conspiracy that a global cabal of bankers actually does rule the world. FOLLOW THE MONEY
Atlanta school teachers are going to jail for falsifying test scores in order to save their jobs and secure bonuses, while up on Wall Street not one person has been charged or done any jail time relating to the financial crisis of 07'-08' that brought us to the brink. Atlanta Teachers
If we follow the money close enough, we can almost smell the stench coming from that of a pretty blonde female reporter from ESPN making mistaken career decisions to berate underpaid and under-educated parking lot attendants. In the age of Big Brother surveillance watching everything, we have become the pitchforks that hold everyone else accountable. We are the hypocrites that cite our own imperfection as reason to make others' suffer for theirs.
Meanwhile a Turkey Flu spreads across the heartland at pace faster than drunk white men at a NASCAR event and has made the biological, evolutionary Darwinian jump to chickens. Farms and farmers everywhere are scrambling to pick up the pieces, sweep up the foul messes and connect the dots. Is this how the Zombie Apocalypse begins? Will a Subway store become the ground floor for patient zero? I can already see through the smoke of overturned semis jack knifed on the jammed interstate, wheels spinning and Jared stumbling down a strip mall sidewalk, mumbling the words,"Eat fresh...............brains."
Until next time, keep spreading the outrage, spreading the truth; but always look over shoulder, someone or something, may be following you.
We have recently and quickly filtered through the shiny
plastic lifestyles of celebrity gossip magazines and the glossy unreality of reality
television shows to find ourselves in the midst of a never ending Holy War
against mindless savages lost in the barbarity of the Middle Ages only to have woken up on a brilliantly sunny Tuesday morning in September fighting a Crusade
against intolerance, ignorance and misinformation. But I ask, and this may be
troublesome to many, but do we somehow have only ourselves to blame? As a
result of our global reach for new energy markets have we clumsily puzzled our way through the first dim lights
of the Internet, the real estate market's boom and bust, the stock market crash
and along for the ride, pop music's relatively slow death, only to be
confronted with the knowledge that we are no closer to the truth of our purpose
on this rotating planet than the next new shiny gadget is going to fill the
void of our often times' empty lives filling out busted brackets, sneering at close neighbors we despise?
We push on; in the face of oncoming construction
work and the unwanted detours of our lives' we struggle to find the strength in
the early morning hours of a horrendous twenty four hour news cycle way of life
to come face to face to with our death struggle against aging and our ever
expanding waistlines. Diets of faith and exercise in their economical tabernacles must be undertaken and in the
process of our fears they are continuously selling and we are continuously
buying new ways to slow the inevitable, to stretch our minds in the threat of
dementia's rattle and disconnect from the rising temperatures that dot the
colored map of globalization, each one adding to the piling amounts of debt to
know that hope Springs' eternal with each politician's personal server that is
never to be searched; instead we are told only to trust, have faith and promise
for the next election cycle, things will be better, we just have to believe in
them. They always have our best interests at heart. We just have to
believe.
Sadly, despite the so-called "progress" of the
Civil Rights era, black men still swing from trees in the south, authority
often times oversteps its' insatiable bounds and the confederate flag still
waves its dirty hand stubbornly in the wind; all of which is compounded with the
scary truth that little children sometimes never find their way home from
school. We are like a rare species on the verge of extinction as many place our
hope in the unknown, the unseen, but are told that climate change is only a
myth to some and others only an unneeded agenda. All the while the Middle East
continues to rage out of control at the siren calls of mullahs' afraid at the
fact that their way of life is slipping through their Koran holding fingers, so
they blast away at the West and scream to Allah for their fortunes to hold sway
while people are blown to bits while at prayer to the same God; yet still some
wonder, why is it always away on business?
On the eve of our traditional date with Easter, I am
undeterred by the relentless onslaught of paranoia welling up from Israel
because I don't have to live with the constant threat of death on a bus ride to
work; I ask are we steps closer to the return of his son or was he ever here to
begin with?
Questions abound and answers that may
never be given rest in the ether of the universe, I yet find hope in the fact that
it probably doesn't even matter; for the fact is, in our current day and age,
there is little time given or reward to those that contemplate these situations;
the solace is having the freedom to let these thoughts spill out of my waking
mind without threat of persecution; oh wait, we still have Guantanamo open; so
sorry, got to run.
Ladies and gentlemen, this installment will be the last Global Outrage of an Educated Man for some time. For I will be getting back to the writing of the novel that will afford my wife and I, a life away from the daily grind; getting up. going to work, coming back home, having dinner, going to sleep, getting up, going to work, coming back home, having dinner and going to sleep.......you get the idea, and so I would like to thank you for your time and patience; have a great Holiday season. Cheers.
Confronted, bombarded, ambushed and deluged with the fear pandemic that has become the mass media's mantra; whether it be Ebola, ISIS, Immigration, the upcoming mid-term elections or the stock market, I find solace in the fact that the end is near. The witching hour is upon us and what better way to say goodbye to old menacing friends, then to see them disappear likes leaves off the trees awaiting the cold hands of winter to grab them by their throats and wave adios into the ether as they scream like befuddled Fox-News anchors at their incomprehensible grasp at reality.
Speaking of mid-term elections, the political boogeymen will make you believe that you are either being taxed too much or too little. On their differences of taxation they agree; no matter how simple the answer, whether it be an income tax or a corporate tax, the code needs to be reformed; but that is about as attractive a platform as Google Glass is to the consumer. However, multinational corporations and their political benefactors; those they have purchased with the help of the Citizens United ruling by the Supreme Court, will make you believe that they can't create enough jobs because they have been burdened with an uncompromising tax rate. But according to a 2013 GAO paper, corporations on average pay a 12.6% tax rate. Seems to this educated man, that they are getting a much better deal than Joe the Plumber. So, where are all the leaky pipes? The CDC?
Then there are the new faces of Feminism (the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men). The it word of the moment if you aren't counting Ebola or ISIS. Lena Dunham, the female millennial version of Woody Allen whose hit HBO show GIRLS has a tell-all memoir out (at the ripe age of 28) and according to fans and critics, should be telling us much more than what she does; then again, that's show business and you always want to leave them wanting. There is also the speech that Emma Watson made to the UN catapulting her into the role of spokeswoman for Feminism, passed from the baton that is the all encompassing machines of woman that are Beyonce', Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence. All intelligent women and beautiful faces; now contrast that with Eleanor Roosevelt and once again the message remains true, sex sells.
The New Face of Cover Girl?
The summer of movie blockbusters has come and gone, and what was left were disappointing ticket sales and plot lines; all of which left me scratching my head, where is this generations' Back to the Future? Raiders of the Lost Ark? Star Wars? Where is the PG movie that people could embrace and watch as it morphed into a cultural phenomenon? Have the millenials become so fragmented and their attention spans so disabled that they are unable to agree on anything? Or is it simply because my wife and I chose not to have children, only canines, is why I've missed them or have they simply passed me by? Just one of the smaller questions that ponder my brain. However, I am very much looking forward to Paul Thomas Anderson's film version of Thomas Pynchon's Inherent Vice.
According to a new scientific study done, the Journal PLOS ONE reported that a failing sense of smell (olfactory dysfunction) in older people is a strong predictor of death within five years. The smell of death actually does exist or does it?
Finally, there was the recent incident at Keene State; where the dangers of drunken white men ran rampant like the Walking Dead at a pumpkin festival turned Woodstock 99'. Now, imagine if those men had been black; the fire hoses would just now be turning off.
“There is no G-d in heaven There is no hell below So says the great professor of all there is to know
But I’ve had the invitation that a sinner can’t refuse It’s almost like salvation It’s almost like the blues” Leonard Cohen It’s Almost Like the Blues
The black shadowy wispy smoky hand of panic and death of the current
cable news 24 hour-7 day a week cycle of crisis that is Ebola has reached over the
Atlantic Ocean and landed upon the hallowed ground of the United States; pestilence
and famine continue to run rampant around the globe with no sign of slowing
down like an annoying driver on their cell phone coming onto the freeway
without regard for their merge lane. Although the bells are ringing,
the horsemen are nowhere to be seen as of yet; but that does nothing to stop the
cathedral of technology that brings forth new parishioners with each town
hall meeting product announcement. It is
only a sign in a growing list that society is crumbling before our very
eyes; for there is something terribly wrong when people will sleep and stand in
line to spend $600 on the next shiny new smart phone, only to bend it while
sitting upon it while it is placed inside their back pocket; but thank God, with
Yoga pants there are no back pockets. The only line this so-called educated man
is standing or sleeping in is the line where they are giving out $600. Can I
get an Amen?
Meanwhile U.S. led air strikes of another propaganda created
coalition of the willing have been sent into Syria to debilitate ISIS-ISIL over the public be-headings of two American journalists and forthcoming what looks to be a
third American; it is the expansion of the War on Terror into a
further mess of destabilization. Despite the many opinions of the expert
pundits crowding talk shows and cable news editorials who try to fit their
gigantic heads into each frame, one thing is guaranteed and that is, it is evidence
in the fact that what could only be imagined from Tom Clancy or John Le Carre
novels in the mid to late 80’s is taking place the world over; the impossible
is here, we are allying ourselves with Iran and you can bet the farm Israel is
keeping very close tabs upon all of this, don’t be fooled, don’t you worry; the
Rothschilds are never gone, they've only been forgotten.
Have a Nice Day
Then there is the more recent displays of dissent in Hong Kong, only poking the sleeping dragon of China as if in an opium den, until she can rest no more and like a Tolkien creation, rise from her slumber of slowing economic growth and wreak havoc upon the Geo-political and Geo-economics of the new global order. Apparent to all in the know, the old order is crumbling; the Age of Information is spreading like a virus. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, The Smiley Face Killer may have
struck again with the discovery of the body of a young man reported missing from
Sartell, Minnesota found in Moorhead, Minnesota. He was a college student from
NDSU, now considered by the local police to be the victim of a recent
homicide; the only clues released were that one of his shoes and his cell phone are missing. In an alarming trend, young men, last seen at bars or college parties in the
late hours of the night, disappear without a trace, poof, only to be found
days, weeks or months later, with no explanations given, except the possibility
of drowning. How these young men all find their way to a body of water is
beyond me. This so-called educated man fervently believes it is the work
of a Midwest serial killer; someone with the ability to work independently and who
travels for their job; as a result, someone who happens to spend his weekends
in college towns, praying on the drunk and disoriented, easy prey, easy
targets, easy victims and I thought only fraternities were supposed to do
that.
In
what may be further evidence of knowing that the game has been rigged, there were the incredibly low numbers of only 57.5% of eligible voters casting their ballots
in the 2012 U.S. Presidential election; ladies and gentlemen, Vladimir Putin receives a higher percentage of voter turnout and the citizens of Russia already know the outcome of that
race. Hopefully, enough of the voting
public will wake up in time to cast intelligent and informed decisions this
November and in 2016 or will it even matter?
"I'm looking through you."
Finally, sifting through the wreckage that is the modern day, we
as evolving human beings need to be aware of the destruction that
our daily schedules and lifestyles have placed upon our bodies and embattled emotions. There is a need to embrace and utilize the occult
knowledge of optics that is one’s Third Eye; the pineal gland. We need to be on
the natural circadian rhythm as much as possible; it is vital that the 24 hour
light and dark cycle that is nature be
incorporated into our lives’ and in the process wrap both of our psychic and physical arms around the importance of melatonin. Despite what the commercials are trying to tell us, things will not be
improved because of testosterone treatment and a new pharmaceutical is not going to
give you what is already inherent and sleeping in each and every one of us. In
order to wake up and solve the deadly problems that continually face us each and every day, we must get a good night’s rest. Sweet dreams my friends,
sweet dreams and don't let the bed bugs bite.
